Membership Types

There are five types of membership in AACE.  These types are:

  • Professional (voting):  open to members of the American Counseling Association who hold a masters or doctoral level degree in counseling and have completed at least two courses in measurement or closely related subjects,
  • Regular (voting):  open to members of the American Counseling Association who have one year of professional experience in activities associated with assessment,
  • Student (non-voting):  Open to all individuals who are eligible for student membership in the American Counseling Association (i.e., individuals who are enrolled half-time or more in a graduate counseling program),
  • Retired (voting):  open to members of the American Counseling Association who have retired and who have been members of AACE for at least the five years prior to their retirement.
  • Exclusive AACE Membership:  open to assessment, counseling, and education professionals who wish to join AACE without joining the American Counseling Association.
